Once and even many times….
I sailed the oceans around our wonderful coast
Slept in secluded bays under the full moon
Forreged for my supper off the rocks and dived for crayfish for open fire dinners.
Rafted down the white waters of the Vaal, Orange and Zambezi…
Trekked across the Kalahari and Namib…
Camped under Boababs, Kameeldoring and Fever trees…
Ate the fruits of berry trees
Lived in and off the land..
I’m in awe of our female race
For they bring forth life and heal in record time
I honour the love a mother has for her siblings
And the wrath of a woman scourned.
